AGP
Stands for "Accelerated Graphics Port." It is a bus slot designed by Intel that is used for graphics cards. (It's the interface on the motherboard where the graphics card connects.) PCI graphics ports typically run at 33 MHz and have a maximum transfer rate of 132 MB/sec. AGP ports, on the other hand, run at 66 MHz and can transfer data up to 528 MB/sec. This allows 3D games and applications to store and retrieve larger, more realistic textures in system memory rather than video memory, with little slowdown. Basically, this means AGP cards will have higher performance per MB of VRAM than a standard PCI card.
