Megabyte
Like the kilobyte, the megabyte doesn't contain a nice even number of bytes. Though by its name, it should contain 1,000,000 bytes, it actually contains 1,048,576 bytes (1,024 x 1,024). This is because 2^10 equals 1024 and not 1000. See the Help Center for a further explanation. Abbreviation: "MB".
