RTF
Stands for "Rich Text Fomat." It is a file format developed by Microsoft that allows you to save text files, keeping their formatting, font information, text color, etc. "Ooh, great," you say, "All programs can do that." Well, the nice thing about the RTF format is that it is a universal format which can be read by nearly all word processors.
