WAP (Wireless Application Protocol ) A protocol used with small handled devices with small file sizes.An open international standard for applications that use wireless communication,e.g. Internet access from a mobile phone.Applications for wireless networks include multi-party teleconferencing,distributed work sessions,electronic newspapers.It requires consideration of mobility,hand-off,varying transmission and bandwidth conditions.
