Convergence
(1) The coming together of two or more disparate disciplines or technologies. For example, the so-called fax revolution was produced by a convergence of telecommunications technology, optical scanning technology, and printing technology.(2) In graphics, convergence refers to how sharply an individual color pixel on a monitor appears. Each pixel is composed of three dots -- a red, blue, and green one. If the dots are badly misconverged, the pixel will appear blurry. All monitors have some convergence errors, but they differ in degree.
